Construction Expo keeps building

The South East’s leading construction industry exhibition and conference, the innovative South East Construction Expo, is building on last year’s success by adding an additional event for 2020.

Returning to the South of England Event Centre, Ardingly, on 28 April 2020, this year will also see the trade show being held for the first time at Sandown Park Exhibition Centre, Esher, on 23 September 2020.

Free to attend, the events are dedicated to the construction sector and brings together clients, contractors, developer, consultants and other related industries from across the UK. With live demos of products, industry speakers and over 150 exhibitors the event is a ‘must visit’ for anyone in property, development or construction.

A networking breakfast will open the event, followed by practical workshops, speakers, exhibitions and the opportunity to sign-up to ‘Meet the Buyer’ one-to-one sessions.

Richard Maybury, Chair of the Institute of Directors (IoD) in Surrey said: ‘We are delighted to be supporting the first South-East Construction Expo in Surrey in September, following the earlier successes of the Expo elsewhere. Despite the ongoing political and economic uncertainty this past year, according to the Builders’ Conference, the UK construction sector shows no signs of slowing. In the first month of 2020, more than 400 companies won new contracts, so there is no better time to get along to events like this, make new contacts and win new business! We look forward to welcoming you there!’

An exciting programme of speakers and workshops is being put together for the Surrey event and will be announced over the coming months. In Sussex, speakers already include Malcolm Clarke, Managing Director at Baxall Construction; Cedric Laurier, Chief Technical Officer at Gatwick Airport; and Julia Gregory, Director of Projects at Ebbsfleet Development Corporation.

Additionally, the Surrey event will for the first time put the spotlight on the education sector with the introduction of the Education Estates UK Pavilion. This will feature a wide variety of companies and practices whose key activities centre around schools, universities and student accommodation in both public and private sectors. There will be an accompanying programme of talks and presentations highlighting the changes, opportunities and challenges in the sector.

Advanced Panel Manufacturing will be also demonstrating their unique ‘green’ sustainable and eco-friendly, full format construction panels. These versatile, attractive and cost-effective, Fire Resistant A rated boards are easily assembled without the need for skilled labour offering the potential for a brilliantly practical, efficient and environmentally positive solution to the ongoing housing shortage .

SOUTH EAST CONSTRUCTION AWARDS 2020

South East Construction Awards 2020, with six categories, covering the sector will also be celebrated at the South East Construction Expo on 23rd September at Sandown Park Exhibition Centre in Esher, Surrey.

Carole Black from South East Construction Expo said, “These awards celebrate our heroes in this industry. We have an exciting panel of judges and are seeking entries for categories ranging from best construction project to best architectural design, best contractor to best supplier. We are also looking to celebrate women in the industry and want to reward the best apprentice on a construction project in the South East.”

South East Construction Expo 2020 will take place at:

Thursday 28 April 2020, 9 am – 3.30 pm.

South of England Event Centre, Ardingly, Haywards Heath,

Wednesday 23 September 2020, 9 am – 3.30 pm

Sandown Exhibition Centre, Esher, Surrey
