ELITE STONE GALLERY – LAUNCH OF NEW LONDON SHOWROOM FOR LEADING ITALIAN MARBLE COMPANY

NEW SOURCE FOR DESIGNERS AND DEVELOPERS, ARCHITECTS AND INTERIOR DESIGNERS OF THE FINEST MARBLE AND ORNAMENTAL STONE, WITH FULL TECHNICAL EXPERTISE FOR INSTALLATION OF THE MOST INNOVATIVE AS WELL AS TRADITIONAL PROJECTS

Tetyana Kovalenko, the dynamic CEO of Elite Stone,  founded her company in Rome in 2000 to supply and install the finest marble, onyx and quartzite for prestigious interiors around  the world, from St Petersburg’s Mariinsky Theatre to mansions, apartments, villas and hotels in  Rio de Janeiro, Lagos, the South of France, London and New York. .

She relocated to Verona in 2013, where two vast buildings in the Valpolicella area just outside the City, Slab Division, and Atelier, display racks of marble for private and corporate clients,  and an array of opulent interior design ideas,  often featuring the E-light system where panels of marble and onyx are back lit to show the beauty of natural stone, an innovation which has taken Elite Stone technical team ten  years to perfect.   .

On November 1st  2017  Tetyana opened her first London showroom, Elite Stone Gallery, a 200 square metre space for customers to choose marble and onyx, to be made aware of its infinite possibilities. There are five glamorous settings, to display imaginative uses of marble and other natural stone.  There is a particular emphasis on the Elite Stone patented E-light system showing the beauty of stone almost as an art installation, also carved and polished baths and basins, with a sculptural quality.   .

Tetyana discovered her passion for stone while working for a company producing equipment for quarries.

She  says ‘I was determined to become a true professional.  I took a graduate course in geology and minerology, in order to understand every aspect of natural ornamental stone, both chemical and physical.  During the course of intense study, my fascination with marble and onyx, as well as quartzite, grew stronger than ever. ‘

‘I am devoted to luxury and beautiful things, inspired by changing trends in fashion and interior design.  Outside our buildings in Verona we have installed a profile of Michelangelo’s David , carved in Carrara marble.  We are associated with the Borghini quarry in Carrara, renowned for its white and blue grey marble for centuries.’

‘Marble is like a diamond, absolutely perfect when the colour is right, when it is flawless and properly cut.  When one of these features is missing, it immediately loses value.’

Projects from Elite Stone include a 3,500 square metre backlit wall at the Mariinsky Theatre, St Petersburg, 50 St James Hotel in London, a magnificent basement spa area in Weybridge, including hammam, Jacuzzi, gymnasium, and Zen garden (in collaboration with Veyron Group), Villas in Como and Majorca, the Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem Hotel.   Recent projects feature floating marble floors and sliding onyx walls.

She says ‘We are always seeking to improve upon our designs.  We love hearing about a client’s vision and making their marble dreams come true.’
