How to Easily Improve Your Property in 2018

Your home will probably be your biggest investment, which is why you should care for it as much as possible throughout the years. Regular maintenance and improvement can improve your lifestyle, home’s curb appeal and the property’s value.

If you want to do all of the above, but are unsure how or where to start, all you must do is read the tips below on how to easily improve your property.

A Loft Conversion

If you want to add square footage into your home while increasing your property’s value, consider converting your loft. The renovation can add additional bedrooms into your home, which is ideal if you have a growing family. A loft conversion is, however, only possible if the property was either built before 1975 or offers 2.3m maximum headroom.

If you want to add a loft conversion simply to add value to your property, it might be worthwhile checking the increased value of my house today. You never know, the natural increase of your property combined with a loft conversion could help you to enjoy an excellent return on your investment.

An Extension

If your home cannot accommodate a loft conversion, it might be worthwhile investing in an extension, if space allows. A single-storey extension will reportedly cost a minimum of £30,000, but it could be cheaper to add an extension than to move into a bigger, more expensive home.

Transform Your Kitchen

If your kitchen is looking a little tired and offers inadequate storage space, it might be time for a remodel. A new kitchen can transform the appearance of your home and will allow you to cook and clean with ease each day. A stylish kitchen is also bound to impress your guests, and it can make your property a more appealing investment when you decide to sell.

Hang New Doors

There is no point spending a considerable amount of money on stunning furnishings and beautiful décor if you have dull, cheap looking doors. Transform your interior by hanging high-quality doors, preferably with glass windows to add more natural sunlight into a room and hallway. You’ll regret not making the change much sooner.

Add a Ceiling Fan

Many UK homeowners don’t want to invest in an expensive air conditioning unit, as it’s rare we can enjoy some sunny weather. Yet, every few weeks during summer, cities and towns across Britain experience a rare heatwave, which can make our homes hot and sticky. If you want to enjoy a more comfortable bedroom or living room once the sun starts to shine, consider installing a stylish ceiling fan, which will keep you and your family cool.

Spruce Up Your Exterior

Many homeowners focus their time, attention and finances on their interior, but may neglect their exterior. If you want to prove to your friends, neighbours, and passers-by that you have a beautiful home, you should regularly spruce up your exterior. Not only must you mow the lawn, trim hedges, and maintain flower beds, but you can also change your front door and windows to improve your property’s kerb appeal. You’ll be surprised by the big difference it can make to your home.
