LONG-TERM ENGINEERED SEGMENTAL RETAINING WALLS PARTNERSHIP WILL HELP ACHESON & GLOVER AND MACCAFERRI TO CAPITALISE ON NEW MARKET OPPORTUNITIES

Acheson & Glover Ltd. and Maccaferri have announced a long-term partnership for supplying engineered segmental retaining walls throughout the UK and Ireland.  Under the agreement, Acheson & Glover will manufacture Anchor Diamond™, Anchor Vertica™ and Anchor Landmark™ products for use in engineered walls.

Maccaferri will act as their sole-distributor for these products in Ireland and the UK, supplying them with their market-leading Paragrid® geogrid reinforcement and providing customers with unrivalled engineering and design support. In certain markets, construction services are available for clients who require a design, supply and install service.

Stephen Acheson, Managing Director of Acheson & Glover said:

“Acheson & Glover’s stong reputation as a high-quality producer of concrete products will complement Maccaferri’s equally impressive reputation for being experts in designing and providing retaining structures.”

Maccaferri Managing Director, Steve Miller said:

“Both companies are committed to significantly growing sales for these products in both the UK and Ireland. We believe we are ideally positioned to take full advantage of improving market conditions.

“By choosing to work together in a formal partnership, Acheson & Glover and Maccaferri can now offer an unrivalled package of segmental retaining wall solutions, with market-leading product quality, design support and expertise. We are delighted that the engineered components for the wall systems are made in the UK with blocks made in A&G’s state of the art facilities in Fivemiletown and Paragrid ™ made in Yorkshire. This increases our local economies and reduces the carbon footprint of our solution compared to other systems made elsewhere in the world.”

Stephen Acheson concluded:

“This closer working relationship between both companies is already paying dividends in Northern Ireland, with several large contracts being secured. Both organisations are fully committed to growing sales further in 2015 in all regions.”

The agreement has been reached with the full support of Anchor Wall Systems.

Maccaferri Ltd is the United Kingdom subsidiary of the worldwide Maccaferri Industrial group whose headquarters are in Bologna, Italy. From offices in Oxford, Scotland, Belfast and Dublin and supported by an in-house team of Geotechnical and Geosynthetic Specialists and Civil Engineers Maccaferri offers an unrivalled product range to the construction industry throughout the UK and Ireland.

Acheson & Glover Ltd is headquartered at Fivemiletown, Northern Ireland.  The company has additional presences at Ballygawley, Toome, Carryduff, Magherafelt, Dungannon, Belcoo, Omagh and Birmingham, and has been trading for more than 50 years.  It designs, manufacturers, sells and distributes a range of walling, paving and pre-cast products throughout the UK and Ireland.
