The restoration glass SCHOTT TIKANA® that features a solar protective coating was used.
The challenge: The requirements of the monument protection authorities with respect to the historic appearance of the glass surface for Bauhaus style buildings (SCHOTT TIKANA®) and low total construction thickness of the insulation glasses (12 or 14 mm) for installation in historic window frames had to be reconciled with the demands of modern building physics that call for the best possible solar and thermal insulation.
