As Go Glass Design Director Clive Sparkes explains “Many of the processes that we use such as glass etching were invented in the mid 1700’s and we want to keep those traditional skills alive today” To achieve this the company continue to develop new products using a range of systems suitable for domestic and commercial applications.

Shortlisted for a Manufacturing Innovation Award in both 2019 and 2020, the latest technology the company have launched is Edge Lit LED Glass. Etching designs create surface illumination onto the Glass, which capture and hold the light. The result is a unique and stunning display of both colour and light.

A new concept in Glass and Lighting Design, this process can be used on architectural products including hinged glass doors, sliding pocket doors, glass partitions and screens and as the lighting is IP67 rated the Glass can even be used as part of a shower enclosure or a balcony.

Incorporating smart technology, the edge lit LED glass panels can be controlled by a smart phone app, remote control or wall control panel allowing the home, restaurant or bar owner to set mood lighting or achieve stunning colour strobe effects.

A contemporary range of designs is available with the option of custom one-off commissions. Corporate logos and designs can also be incorporated into the glass panels.

A new venture to be launched in Feb 2020 “Go Glass Art” will also see a range of glass garden sculptures and wall art products and the company are very excited. As Emma Sparkes, Sales Director says “As an independent family business our focus is on our product and our commitment to our customer rather than simply profit and this gives us the momentum to continually push the boundaries of what can be achieved with Glass.

Established in 1978, the Cambridge based company have recently opened a new glass design studio, launched a new interactive website and run their own glass design training programme. The team freely share their skills and knowledge of the glass trade and welcome both trade and retail enquiries of any size.
