The Kitemark for IoT (Internet of Things) devices is designed to address the potential for cyber threats to all internet-enable products. Any connected device has the potential to be exploited by hackers as a way to access personal data and to disrupt or divert services. This includes your emergency lighting system.<\/p>\n
Certification to the BSI Mark of Trust Kitemark for IoT Devices has been achieved by P4 for their Fastel systems M-Web Controller.<\/p>\n
The M-Web and Fastel system has undergone rigorous testing at BSI\u2019s state-of-the-art IoT lab to demonstrate that it is secure, minimising vulnerability to attack and protecting users\u2019 data and privacy, as well as any interconnected proprietary systems and information. This is an ongoing process and the whole system will be assessed by BSI every six months to ensure it remains secure against any new-found ways of hacking.<\/p>\n
Addressing potential security breaches may not be high on the agenda when selecting emergency lighting solutions, but it really should be, and this kitemark highlights that significance.<\/p>\n
With an existing second Kitemark for automatic self-testing of emergency lighting already awarded to the M-Web system, it is a clear choice for improving security as well as being absolutely reliable when it comes to guiding people to safety in an emergency.<\/p>\n
