Rolling Ladders Buyers Guide. Aluminium or Stainless Steel Track

The first step of choosing your rolling ladder is to decide your track type. We have two options available, aluminium and stainless steel. If you are looking for a rolling ladder to go over bookcases or spaces that are out of sight the aluminium option would suit you best. This is due to customer feedback with the steel track looking much cleaner.

Removable or Captive?

The rolling ladders have two options, captive or removable. The captive option means that the ladder will be fixed to the track at all times but the removable option can be stored elsewhere when not in use.

Wood Type

If you are looking to match your decor or wanting to paint your ladder the wood type can be an important selection. The timbers and benefits of these can be found below.

Redwood – Our most cost effective option offering the most lightweight ladder

Poplar – Also known as tulipwood this timber is perfect for painting or staining as the low sap content ensures the most even and effective finish.

Ash – Our strongest timber ladder with a distinctive grain

Oak – A classic timber which will suit most decors, perfect with an oiled finish

Walnut – A beautiful dark finish perfect to take a clear lacquered finish.

Finishes

We recommend all of our rolling ladders to have a finish, this helps protect the wood and stops marking when the ladder is in use. We can stain, laquer or paint your ladder for you or you can do this yourself should you prefer.

Delivery

Once the drawings have been signed off our rolling ladders have a lead time of 3-4 weeks and will be delivered shortly after this ready to be fitted.
