LUCTRA\u00ae, the innovative lighting system from DURABLE, has received the Red Dot Award for product design. The award, agreed upon by an independent jury of internationally recognized design experts, professors and journalists, is regarded as one of the most prestigious distinctions in the industry.<\/p>\n
The jurors received a total of 4,928 entries from 1,994 participants in 56 countries, making the Red Dot Award the world\u2019s biggest, most widely acknowledged product contests.<\/p>\n
The product went under the thorough gaze of the esteemed judges, with assessment criteria including degree of innovation, functionality, ergonomics and durability. \u201cWe are thrilled to have received such a prestigious award,\u201d says Sean Starkey, Managing Director of Durable UK. \u201cWith its stunning appearance and cutting edge design, LUCTRA\u00ae<\/strong> harnesses the biological effect of light, and we believe it is at the very forefront of innovative lighting design.\u201d<\/p>\n The LUCTRA\u00ae<\/strong> range comprises of four floor and table lamps models in two modern, minimalistic designs and three stylish colour finishes. Cold white and warm white LEDs with an illuminance of up to 1,000 lux and extremely even light distribution ensure that the intensity and colour closely replicates daylight. LUCTRA\u00ae<\/strong> will individually and automatically change the colour of light during the course of the day.<\/p>\n All models are equipped with the intelligent VITACORE\u00ae electronic system, which offers users intuitive access to LUCTRA\u00ae functions and the ability to control the brightness and colour of the light by simply placing a finger on the glass touch panel. The free VITACORE\u00ae app turns LUCTRA\u00ae into a flexible lighting tool and contains a pre-set 24-hour lighting sequence, which automatically varies the colour and intensity of light and thus simulates the development of natural light in the course of the day.<\/p>\n The open cooling fin adds to the stylish form of the lighting solution, and also helps exploit the potential of LED technology to the full. Thanks to its sophisticated design, the lamp\u2019s highly effective dissipation of heat ensures an extremely long life of up to 50,000 hours. Its long life is also enhanced by the self-locking joints specially developed for LUCTRA\u00ae, which operate without the normal locking screws or complex mechanisms. All models are available in RADIAL or LINEAR designs.<\/p>\n The Red Dot award will be presented to the team in the Aalto Theatre in Essen, Germany on 29 June, at Red Dot\u2019s landmark 60th<\/sup> anniversary show.
