Seven years ago in a basement in Whitefield, Manchester, two very good friends worked to make that basement a hive of creativity. ‘Aire Interiors’ was born, and also Interior Plantation Shutters was started. Cerice concentrated on the shutters whilst Julia was busy sketching room sets and designing furniture.

At this time, seven years ago, interior plantation shutters were seen in London Central West area and were present mainly outside of the capital as solid shutters in old architecture. Cerice’s main buzz toward designing shutters was the reflection of architecture that can be re created in solid and louvered shutters. The louvered Plantation Shutters compliment French Classic Style so well and the style of GRAND CLASSIC LOOKS so elegant, which are both design passions of Cerice that have reflected on designing of Shutters Inc Shutters. Shutter Inc has now grown in size with all the hard years and passion instilled into it, we have now moved into premises & created a stunning specialist showroom situated off the M60, easy access for the Mid to North England. This is where Cerice & Sophie (the shutter sisters!) now work from with their trusted team of clerical & joinery staff. The showroom is open Monday to Saturday 9.30 to 5.30 with a view to opening late night Thursdays & Sundays by appointment only.

As at present we are the only showroom outside of London we have the ability to offer our future clients the benefit of seeing &operating room divider shutters, splitting our showroom, & viewing the excellent quality of the ranges carried by Shuttersinc. Sophie, Cerice’s sister came on board after three years, therefore she has been a valuable asset to Shuttersinc for four years & is also a trained shutter & bespoke blind specialist. This year the sisters have been invited on four Sixty Minute Makeover shows for ITV which have been a fantastic exciting experience. Both the sisters are trying their hand to fitting, of at least the blinds! But, Cerice, fully believes in her valley of bespoke joiners that she has gratefully worked with over the years, in particular Stephen Anderson from www. in-2.co.uk and her current senior craftsman David from D&A Renovations. Cerice asked Sophie if she was interested in becoming partners in a blind company, which Sophie said yes to & they decided to call it C & S Designer blinds which it doesn’t take a GCSE to work out it stands for Cerice & Sophie’s Designer Blinds! Silent Gliss are an innovative blind company carrying sheer fabrics mainly bespoke for the high end market, they approached Cerice & at this stage she felt Shuttersinc was ready to have a sister company, to also be Ablte to offer our clients an even larger range of bespoke products. Celebrities that have commissioned Shuttersinc to provide them with Interior Plantation Shutters for their homes include, Footballers Brian & Denise Robson, Jamie & Nicola Carragher, Mr & Mrs Kevin Killban, Mr & Mrs Harry & Sherrie Kewel, Mr & Mrs James Beattie. Sue Johnston from amazing work such as Brookside, The Royal Family, Waking The Dead, who’s son ‘Joel’ is a photographer in the early days did actually take many of the shuttersinc photographs shown in the gallery on the website www. shuttersinc.co.uk on behalf of Cerice for Shuttersinc.

This is how we met the lovely Susi Mathis, who started the original girl band ‘The paper dolls’ She also has pioneered for years to support and build the Kirsty Club for Francis House in Didsbury Manchester a charity Trust. We had the pleasure of providing shutters to Susi and Sue Johnston. As Shuttersinc pride ourselves on design we relish the more unusual windows that other shutter companies like Sandersons & Hilarys walk away from. A project, such as this which geographically our most local stunning commission The Pond House, Nutbank, Manchester. Owned by Mrs Ellie Doherty who has just been awarded in Feb 08 the Built In Quality Award from the Manchester City Council. LABC in recognition of the high quality construction & design of Mrs. Dohertys stunning property. Mrs. Ellie Doherty has stated she was delighted to have our input into the overall design. We were invited in at the 1st fix stage, & worked together for designs on the interesting floor to ceiling glazed doorways, Mrs. Ellie Doherty was using architecturally. As the house is built into a lake the large louvered shutters were used so that the view could still be fully appreciated even with some sunshade in the form of the window shutters. The particular doors here seen in Mrs. Dohertys property are the externally by-folding glazed units. Shuttersinc can provide you with a made to measure fitted service throughout the UK & over seas if required.
