W40 system installations can also be supplied to Secured by Design standard and will be looked upon very favourably by insurers.<\/p>\n<p>Darren Lloyd of SWA member, Govette Windows comments: \u201cW40 fenestration solutions offer specifiers a lot of attractive options, including energy performance matching the latest requirements of the Building Regulations, and high security.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe feeling of openness achievable is also very good thanks to the strength of steel: with doors of up to 2.5 metres in height being available, and the maximum width of a fixed screen being three metres. Members are supplying W40 doors and screens for top end residential as well as offices, hotels, hospitals and schools.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>W40 windows offer good sustainability credentials.\u00a0 The source of steel billet, rod and strip, from which steel window profiles are formed, is basic steel smelted from 100% recycled scrap.<\/p>\n<p>When steel windows are finally replaced, the original windows can be systematically dismantled and the frames, fittings and glass recycled.
