Create beautiful roofs with SL8 – the visually stunning large format roof tile

Leading roofing supplier, Forticrete, is meeting the increasing need for innovative roofing solutions with its large format, thin leading edge roof tile, SL8. Its unique features produce a beautiful aesthetic whilst also allowing you to save time and money.

SL8 combines a visual aesthetic that replicates real, natural slate with the technical features of an interlocking tile, to offer both superior coverage and a better looking roof. Measuring 420mm x 390mm with a 396mm hanging length, SL8 delivers excellent coverage, requiring just eight tiles per m². Compared to the industry standard of ten tiles per m², it’s clear that SL8 saves time, money and effort whilst still meeting the high standards of the roofing industry.

Offering a leading edge that is up to 50% thinner than other large format varieties, SL8 also presents a minimum pitch of 17.5 degrees, making the product suitable for renovations and extensions as well as for new build housing. Its wider format compared to traditional large format roof tiles means that SL8 has similar aesthetic properties to natural slate when laid, making beautiful completed roofs.

The easy-to-lay design of the tile includes two nail holes, which gives you better fixing flexibility. Not only will this reduce the amount of time spent creating the roof, but it also makes the loading out of the tiles onto the roof safe and secure, which can save money by reducing the risk of breakages on site.

Furthermore, SL8 has been granted three UK patents to cover the camber of the tile, the interlocking design and features, and the dry verge design, which gives it 20 years’ protection. Therefore, you can remain confident in using SL8 to provide your customers’ with a robust and long-lasting roof.

With four colours available: red, sunrise blend, brown and slate grey, there are a range of SL8 tiles to suit all your customers’ roofing needs – so you can be reassured that each tile will contribute to the creation of a beautiful roof.

The packaging of SL8 is designed to reduce both damage and waste on site, which reflects Forticrete’s long-term commitment to reducing the construction industry’s environmental impact.
