DESIGN. SAFETY. PERFORMANCE: ALLURA SAFETY TILES

Forbo Flooring System’s popular luxury vinyl tile offering, Allura, has been expanded to include an equally sophisticated safety tile range.  The innovative new Allura Safety Tile combines the consistently stylish designs, flexibility and performance of Allura with sustainable slip resistance properties.

Julie Dempster, Marketing Manager at Forbo Flooring Systems explains: “Allura has become recognised as a cutting edge, design led collection representing the very best quality in luxury vinyl tile.  The modular format of the collection provides a flexible, high performance offering that pushes the boundaries of manufacturing capabilities and design.

“Forbo has now taken this progressive collection a step further to successfully launch the first true safety product available in tiles with the ultimate luxury vinyl tile look for retail, leisure and hospitality, public buildings and the commercial sectors.  The new addition is a functional safety flooring that provides Health and Safety Executive compliant slip resistance underfoot; R10, Wet Pendulum ≥ 36 and surface roughness ≥ 20 – all with the same design ethos and modular functionality specifiers have come to expect from Allura.”

There are 16 inspiring designs chosen for this first collection, reflecting the most prominent and fashionable flooring trends of today: from the popular seagrass, with its striking and alternative wood-effect, to earthy natural elements such as concrete, sand and metal scratch designs.  Meanwhile, the textile options offer a more tactile product choice to complement modern interiors.

True safety performance does not have to compromise design as Allura Safety demonstrates with the use of Forbo’s innovative Step Crystals in the wearlayer.  This addition – invisible to the eye – maintains the integrity of the design, guarantees a high level of design clarity and provides the highly effective and sustainable slip resistance required of safety flooring.

As with the main Allura collection, Forbo’s vision of creating better environments is certainly true of Allura Safety.  Every product in the collection is produced in Europe using 100 per cent electricity from renewable sources, with each component meeting REACH compliance and containing up to 30% controlled waste in the backing.
