IT’S MAY DESIGN TIME!

May Design Series, the UK’s definitive furnishings fair, is nearly upon us. Taking place between 18-20 May at London’s ExCeL, May Design Series is an international design event that combines 5 districts – DX, Decor, The Furniture Show, Kitchen + Bathroom and Lighting – to create one all encompassing event that is set to rival the major shows that take place on mainland Europe.

Uniquely timed to act as the finale of the European show circuit, May Design Series offers visitors the chance to procure items that have been through prototyping and are ready to buy. With a line-up of close to 400 exhibitors, you are guaranteed to find something to suit any taste or project at this unique event.

Highlights to keep an eye out for at the show include…

  • The brand new Fabric Pavilion. New for 2014 and sitting within The Furniture Show, May Design Series will be hosting a large scale Fabric Pavilion. Set around a central Champagne Bar perfect for networking and getting down to business, the Pavilion will showcase a whopping 36 of the best British and International luxury fabric brands. Joining the line-up will be legendary furniture retailer, Heal’s, which will be displaying its first in-house fabric range for decades. Also taking part will be Alhambra, Barker & Barker, Abraham Moon & Sons and many more.
  • Big Thinking, Small Spaces. Also a brand new addition, this special feature area is located in the Kitchen + Bathroom district. Big Thinking, Small Spaces will contain an edited selection of the best space-saving bathroom products, put together by kitchen and bathroom expert Grahame Morrison. Expect to see solutions from VitrA, Ideal Standard, Roca and RAK Ceramics to name but a few.
  • The Designer Makers. If you’re looking for something unique and eye-catching, then the Designer Makers are not to be missed. The Designer Makers are a group of highly respected British craftsmen who design and make furniture, and May Design Series will gather some of the best names together with products ready to buy, and ready to discuss how you can commission your very own individual piece of furniture. Already confirmed are Jay Watson, David Tragen and St Leger Design and more.
  • Out of the Dark. Everybody is talking about Out of the Dark, the hottest charity in town. Based in High Wycombe, Out of the Dark are Jade and Jay, a married couple who help disadvantaged youths off of the streets and train them in the art of furniture making and upcycling. As well as several stands throughout the show which will display one of a kind furniture, lighting, decor and kitchen and bathroom products put together by the charity, May Design Series will also be hosting a silent auction of some exclusive, one-off upholstered chairs, produced by Out of the Dark in collaboration with some of the UK’s best known design bloggers.

May Design Series is free to attend, and registration is now open – to avoid the £30 entry charge, claim your complimentary pass at www.maydesignseries.com
