May Design Series to bring back coveted ‘DX Loves’ tags at next month’s event

May Design Series, the UK’s definitive furnishings fair, is delighted to announce that it will be reintroducing its popular ‘DX Loves’ tags for a second year.

Standing for design excellence, new ideas and game-changing technologies, the ‘DX Loves’ initiative will see 25 of the best designed products at the show awarded an exclusive swing tag. This tag will then be displayed on their stand for the duration of the show, in order to clearly highlight the winning products to visitors. The accolade will be awarded to a total of 25 products, spanning all five sectors of the show: DX, Decor, Lighting, Kitchen + Bathroom and The Furniture Show.

The winners of ‘DX Loves’ will be judged and awarded by May Design Series’ very own Web Editor, design guru Ola Bednarczuk on the opening morning of the show.

The ‘DX Loves’ tags were introduced at the first edition of May Design Series last year, and proved a hit with exhibitors and visitors alike. Previous winners of a ‘DX Loves’ tag include Abode, Timorous Beasties, Deadgood, iGuzzini and Badgers of Bohemia.

Also a winner in 2013 was Spanish kitchen specialist Doca UK, which was awarded a ‘DX Loves’ tag for its ‘Contemporary Classic’ concealed design range of kitchen furniture. Sara Wells, Sales & Business Development Manager at Doca UK, commented: “When it comes to the evolution of design and technology, DX is an ideal platform to perfectly demonstrate how to furnish both interior and exterior spaces. To be awarded a ‘DX Loves’ tag at last year’s May Design Series was a great achievement for Doca, giving just endorsement that we as a brand continue to sit at the forefront of design excellence. Being able to clearly show visitors that we were one of the few exhibitors selected to receive this accolade for our design ability alone was a great talking point for us, and we hope to be able to do it again this year with the help of four new products on display”.

All exhibitors are automatically entered into the running to be awarded a tag, and Ola will make her selection on the opening day of the show. Ola commented: “We launched DX Loves at the inaugural May Design Series last year as a celebration of designs that stood out as being innovative, future-focused or just plain lovely. DX is the ideas and innovation-led hub of the May Design Series, created to get people thinking and talking about the future of interior spaces, so the DX Loves tags are a way for us to highlight the products that best reflect this ethos. Following the DX Loves trail is like a treasure hunt for the most innovative and interesting design solutions on display at the show. I would urge anyone who spots a pink tag while making their way through the exhibition to stop and take a moment to find out what makes this design special – you won’t be disappointed!”

May Design Series will take place at London’s ExCeL between 18-20th May. To register for your complimentary pass, please visit www.maydesignseries.com.
