Derbyshire based family business mrs stone store are celebrating this month after being selected as one of the fifteen finalists in this year’s People’s Choice of the Family Business Awards.

The business which specialises in the retail of natural stone, particularly Brazilian slate and Portuguese limestone runs out its warehouse in Hilton, Derbyshire and is run by Libby Lloyd-Jones. Libby’s daughter Megan and son Izac are also employed by the company along with a number of long standing family friends and in some cases, their children too.

The Family Business Awards are a prestigious annual event celebrating the best family businesses from across the UK and this year the winners will crowned on June 11 in London at The May Fair Hotel.

In total, 98 family firms were shortlisted for the regional and sector specific awards for 2015 with all of them automatically qualifying for the People’s Choice category.  The final shortlist is selected purely by the public and voting began in January.

Since January, mrs stone store has been actively engaging with customers across social media to champion their votes.

Libby Lloyd-Jones, managing director at mrs stone store said;

‘This is brilliant and we want to say a massive thank you to everyone that has voted for us to ensure we are one of the 15 finalists for the People’s Choice awards.  Our primary aim as always is to build a strong, successful business that our future generations can take over, as well as providing an excellent level of customer service to our customers; to us, customers are part of the wider family. We very much look forward to a bright future here at mrs stone store and industry accolades like this are the icing on the cake. From here onwards we will continue to grow and improve but for today, we are beaming with pride.’
