MILBANK STEPS UP WITH ITS KALLISTO SPIRAL STAIRCASE DIVISION

Milbank Concrete Products, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of high quality pre-cast concrete products, is pleased to announce the launch of a new dedicated division for its bespoke spiral and helical stairs under the brand name of Kallisto.

Milbank has been creating precast concrete spiral stairs since 2011 and has been commissioned for staircase installations in some of the most prestigious property developments in the UK.  Following on from this success it seemed a natural progression for Milbank Concrete products to create a distinct division with its own clear branding, to drive sales forward.

Inspired by Greek mythology, the name Kallisto means ‘most beautiful’ and signifies how it is possible to be lifted by beauty, in all forms. Designed to exemplify the innovation and quality of the recent division, the Kallisto logo features a modern, elegant design, which uses a simple spiral shape as its basis and negative space to show its form.

Milbank’s commitment to the new division goes well beyond just branding.  The company has invested in a world class Construx stair mould – believed to be the only one in the UK.  The mould, along with Milbank’s palletised formwork and precast shuttering system, ensures the staircase finish is of the highest quality.  Furthermore each staircase is bespoke, with the rise and width able to be customised to suit an extensive range of projects and applications, from prestige properties with generous spaces to town houses where space is at a premium.  The adaptability of the mould and the ability to manufacture off site also makes for a highly cost-effective staircase solution for even the most elaborate staircases.

To meet the ongoing demand for Kallisto precast concrete spiral stairs, Milbank has taken on dedicated team members for the new division, including a recent college graduate who the company is now training as a mould carpenter.  Milbank has a strong history of supporting young trainees in the workplace and this latest appointment further demonstrates its commitment to developing skills in young people.

For Milbank Managing Director Andy Mayne, the success of its precast concrete spiral staircases has come as no surprise: “we have been working with architects, engineers and designers for a number of years now and have produced some genuinely stunning, durable spiral stair case installations.

“Stairs are quite often the first feature on show when entering a building and have the potential to create a dramatic visual impact.  A beautifully designed staircase can even transform a fairly standard house and, using our innovative, bespoke mould is highly affordable.”

Milbank Concrete Products has a trading history spanning more than 60 years and is recognised as one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of high quality pre-cast concrete products.  Based in North Essex, Milbank designs, manufactures and installs a wide range of pre-cast and pre-stressed concrete solutions, including spiral staircases.
