CHAIN MAIL CURTAINS – THE NEW DESIGN TREND

Chain-mail is a sensorial material that has been widely selected by designers in the field of architecture, decoration, fashion, and more.

Made from stainless steel, the mail retains all the advantages of the original material: it is exceptionally durable, simple to use, strong and fire resistant. It is worked in panels comprised of rings entwined together and usually individually welded. These rings are non-flammable, rot-proof and very strong. The chain-mail is available as ready-to-install panels or customized per meter.

Formerly used in suits of armour, chain mail is today a noble material that is much sought after by designers in search of creative ideas, using it for:

  • curtains
  • wall coverings
  • fireplace screens
  • architecture
  • sculptures
  • theatre
  • lightings
  • jewellery
  • fashion

The mail is pleasant to touch and attractive due to its flexibility, malleability and unusual aspect. The mail can change its appearance and it is also able to catch, reflect or filter light as well as transform it into a dense screen.

Considered as the new material for original ideas, the Chain Mail enables artists to free their imagination and create trendsetting designs. By catching all the surrounding colours, this unusual material instantly changes the feel and decor of an interior as the seasons go by. This material for new ideas provides flexibility and transparency, enabling the creation of home objects that are works of sculpture and magnificent fabrics, curtains for example.

Imagine the work behind this material:

35000 up to 135000 rings per square meter, with up to eight hours of work needed for one square metre !
