Beyond contemporary with ground-breaking accessories from MK

Working at the leading edge of contemporary design, MK has developed the Elements Collection: electrical accessories which can take on the appearance of almost any material. Now designers can create truly unique interiors, as dimmers and sockets become an integral part of the design, delivering the same high aesthetic as key signature materials such as fabrics and wallcoverings.

Not only does the Elements Collection deliver the ultimate in wiring device style and technology for upmarket developments; it also will provide stunning additional detail in show homes – maximising any luxury presentation – and deliver a ‘selling up’ opportunity when marketing optional extras off plan. Given simple installation and standard depth boxes, the chic devices can also be easily retrofitted to add an extra touch of class to refurbishments and renovations.

And it isn’t just the look of the Elements Collection which is different; it’s the feel too. The range comes with new electronic touch functionality for ‘silent’ switching and dimming.

One of the first physical contacts with any room is the light switch. It sets the tone for the room experience – and the Elements Collection has been created to ensure that any encounter with electrical devices, from touch to sight, is consistently impressive.

Now designers can also customise the look of their wiring device, choosing from a huge range of colours, materials and finishes. MK’s bespoke design service – which offers literally thousands of choices – adds minimal lead times and allows designers to truly specify electrical accessories which fit the style and expression of a room.

From cool stone effects like beach pebble to warm woods and leathers, the pioneering range of decorative electrical accessories provides for accent, contrast or concealment. Adding to the aesthetic appeal, slim fascia profiles and crisp, clean edges offer a purity of form

Even the ‘standard’ range offers vast possibilities: four different material groups – Synthetics, Glass Effect, Metallics and Naturals – in 16 different finishes and over 180 different devices mean these once unremarkable products are now capable of matching any design environment.

Three years of research and a huge financial investment from global electrical devices leader MK has also resulted in accessories which can be installed swiftly, with a number of measures designed to minimise the risk of damage. And high design has not compromised safety: all fascias are impact-resistant and all sockets feature an enhanced version of the company’s pioneering 3-pin safety shutters, the safest on the market, exceeding current standards.

At launch, the range comprises socket outlets, plate switches, grid modules and front plates for Euro modular applications. Switches are available as electronic touch or mechanically operated, depending on type.

The four material groups in the Elements Collection range are:

Elements Synthetics takes its cues from the natural landscape and offers finishes such as Chalk White, Beach Pebble and Natural Stone. These subtle, contemporary finishes provide a discreet, harmonious complement to any setting.

Elements Glass Effect finishes challenge all previous conceptions of what represents a switch, socket or dimmer. Sleek, glossy and smart; the innovative designs – which include touch technology among their appeal – offer refreshing coolness in Ice White and the pure touch of Polished Jade, Polished Onyx and Polished Stone.

Elements Metallics provide yet another example of MK’s innovative thinking. Muted tones and masculine textures deliver a sense of exclusivity in Satin Platinum and Satin Titanium; while Brushed Steel, Cast Iron and Brushed Bronze re-define the nature of practical and industrial in interiors.

Elements Naturals brings the familiar hues of wood to life in the graceful patterns of British Oak and Dark Wenge. The same organic influence is also expressed in Cream Hide and Dark Hide, which both share the same classic character.

“When a buyer is looking for outstanding contemporary design in a property, every detail becomes important,” says Jason Ng, MK Electric Marketing Communications Specialist. “With the Elements Collection, we believe we can offer developers the chance to create something which differentiates a development from the competition.”

The MK Elements Collection is the ultimate choice in stylish, chic electrical accessories. It takes an ordinary product and transforms it into an inspirational design device, allowing designers to take contemporary interiors to the next level.
