CIAT Approval Awarded for ALUCOBOND® Fire Safety CPD

ALUCOBOND®, from 3A Composites GmbH, is pleased to announce its ‘Fire Safety for Aluminium Composite Material’ CPD has gained Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT) approval.

Since its recent introduction, ALUCOBOND®’s ‘Fire Safety for Aluminium Composite Material’ CPD has been extremely well received by architects, recognising the importance of fire safety in the constructions they design. The approval awarded by CIAT shows that the CPD programme has been independently assessed in terms of its content, structure and resources as providing both accurate and educational information on all aspects of specifying aluminium composite materials with regards to fire safety.

ALUCOBOND®’s ‘Fire Safety for Aluminium Composite Material’ CPD delivers a thorough understanding of all considerations for the specification of aluminium composite materials in construction, although the principles covered are applicable to any lightweight cladding material too.

Specifically, the seminar takes the architect through a detailed explanation of what fire development is, before moving on to explain the difference between fire resistance and reaction to fire. Understanding EN ISO 13501 classification and the various tests that contribute to it, are also discussed and the various fire classifications of common materials explained. The importance of each component to large scale fire tests is also discussed and the current UK fire regulation for rainscreen cladding is explained.

The CIAT-Approved ‘Fire Safety for Aluminium Composite Material’ CPD from ALUCOBOND® is an hour’s duration and can be presented either online via GoToMeeting, the next which is scheduled for 3 June, or at an agreed date at the architect’s practice, subject to COVID-19 restrictions being lifted.

For more information, or to book the CPD seminar please contact Mark Winstanley on +44 (0) 75 84 68 02 63 or by email: Mark.Winstanley@3AComposites.com.
