Oeco Garden Rooms – Building a 9m x 5m Double Corner Canopy Garden Office

The client came to us with an almost definite idea of what he had in mind for his new multi-purpose garden office.  After one of our experienced sales advisors had discussed their requirements we were sure we could be of help. We emailed our site information questionnaire to the customer; this includes a few select questions to ensure there will be no major issues with onsite installation. Once we had confirmed the site was good to go, all the information was passed onto our nationwide surveyor who organised a time and date to carry out the survey.

Once our surveyor had discussed the specification with the customer and conducted a full site survey of the site area, we were able to draw up a full quotation and a mock elevation plan of the proposed build.

The site area was open, rural and ideal for one of our larger garden offices.

Due to the floor area being over 30m2 the customer had to contact his local building control office to confirm our specifications were suitable. Once our build specifications and foundation specification had been approved we were ready to set the installation start date and process the clients order.

The client’s instruction was that the build must have a boot room entrance due to the muddy walk to the office, a WC area due to the distance from the main house and plenty of windows to capture natural light and the country side views.

This particular design had its challenges due to the huge expanse of glass and extra 0.5m height bringing the external height to 3m in total. The external design was completed with our beautiful Grade 2 Clear & Better Western Red Cedar, a combination of anthracite PVC-u windows and doors, canopies with LED down lights (18 in total) to 3 elevations and a large traditional timber deck area.

The internal specifications consisted of 15 Recessed LED down lights, 10 brushed metal double sockets, wiring for a water heater, 23 linier metres of partition walling, 2 internal timber doors, Ethernet cable points, V Groove oak effect laminate flooring, fully plastered walls and ceilings (this is a standard spec in all of our garden rooms) and solid timber skirting boards.

Whilst our installation team were onsite the client also requested that the team run cabling for surround sound speakers, internet, TV points, air con, extractor fan to the WC area, wiring to control the curtains along with 3 5mp sockets for extra lighting.

After two weeks of hard work from one of our experience installation teams the room was complete. The end result was a beautiful multi-purpose room, just as the customer envisioned.
