Stovax And Gazco Turn Up The Heat

For many, stoking up the woodburner or switching on the gas fire was an optional extra – a way of adding an ambient focal point when the family come to visit or making the home cosy on those wintry and grey days. Not so now. Today, the function of a fire or stove in a typical British home is one vital to creating warmth and atmosphere; an essential component of a heating system from which we demand not only high performance and efficiency but cost effectiveness and quality design. Today’s home maker wants top results for their money.

Step forward modern woodburning, gas and electric stoves and fires from Stovax and Gazco, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of high quality heating appliances. Equipped with the latest technology and stunning aesthetics to satisfy a range of tastes from the traditional to the contemporary; country inspired or urban slick, Stovax and Gazco’s extensive selection offers outstanding choice for those considering a new fire or stove for their home.

Stovax – woodburning and multi-fuel stoves and fires

The Riva Studio range lends effortless styling to woodburning – a marriage of the latest in technical innovation and contemporary aesthetics, for high performance and a clean, chic look. The Riva Studio is available in cassette form (inserted into the wall) with a broad selection of enticing frames, or as a freestanding version to create the look of a stove. This year, the selection of landscape sizes grew with the introduction of the Riva Studio 500.

The Riva Studio 500 from Stovax is a high efficiency woodburning fire available as a freestanding appliance or a cassette. The latter has been thoughtfully designed to fit into a standard British 22″ fireplace opening which means an easier, quicker and more cost effective installation for many home-owners. The Riva Studio 500, like the Riva Studio1 and 2, also has the benefit of being suitable for use in Smoke Control Areas meaning that those who live in towns and cities can enjoy the many advantages of woodburning. It can be styled with one of a number of frames or is available with the modern, frameless aesthetic of an ‘Edge’ installation. Alternatively, freestanding versions of the Riva Studio can be installed into an inglenook for that distinctive stove look, or can be mounted onto a Riva Bench for even greater visual impact.

Stovax’s Riva cassette fires are highly efficient appliances that can be installed either inset with a four sided frame for a ‘hole-in-the-wall’ look or on a hearth with a three sided frame. They give the option of burning wood or multi-fuel with the exception of one model and are just one of the many ranges from Stovax that are suitable to burn in smoke control areas. With the inclusion of both cleanburn and airwash technology as standard, the Riva cassette is a low maintenance and high impact fire that gives alluring views of beautiful flames and glowing embers from the sparkling clean glass door.

The Stockton is one of Stovax’s most enduring woodburning stove designs, combining the heat diffusing properties of cast iron with the durability of heavy gauge steel for enhanced performance, combustion control and high efficiency levels. With eight sizes available including inset models and canopy options there is a Stockton to suit a range of rooms and the classic, simple lines can be easily incorporated into a traditionally styled or contemporary interior. Elect for a Matt Black finish or choose from one of three colour options to personalise your stove.

Proving that a woodburning stove can satisfy contemporary tastes, the Riva Vision is a modern twist on traditional offerings. With a stripped back look, sleek lines and a reflective black surface the stove is simply adorned, with stainless steel controls and log guard. There are three sizes available, each with a heat output that will provide plenty of ambient heat to keep your home warm throughout the wintry months. Mount the stove onto a hearth for more of a classic look or to make the most of an inglenook, or place it on a Riva Bench for additional impact. Either way, the generous views of the flames will impress you!

A huge draw to a woodburning stove is its capacity to provide you with the energy not only to heat your home but your family’s hot water and broader central heating requirements as well. Stovax has a range of contemporary and traditional boiler stoves, each with the capability to feed an average 8,000 BTU hot water cylinder and, depending on model, up to 19 radiators. It is also possible to ‘link up’ a high output boiler stove with an existing heating system – this will help you to reduce your reliance on gas or oil. Those with access to their own supply of wood will benefit greatly from significantly reduced bills whilst buying from a well managed, local supply will satisfy anyone’s green credentials.

For a welcoming open fire, Stovax’s Classic Fireplaces range offers a beautiful and elegant selection of fires, fronts, mantels and tiles. Made from traditional materials and utilising faithful representations of authentic designs from bygone eras to create a sense of history and prestige, the range benefits from Stovax’s advanced design and engineering concepts to fuse the best of the past with the technical innovations of the present.

Gazco – gas and electric stoves and fires

Gazco’s wide choice of gas fires includes the recently introduced Riva2 530 and 670 – a new range of stylish and contemporary inset fires that come with a broad selection of enticing frames and personalisation options. Choose from three linings in chic Vermiculite, glamorous Black Reeded and classic Red Brick Effect and then select your preferred framing style and, where applicable, colour finish. The Evoke Steel frame (as shown) has an Ivory front to complement the Graphite back and Vermiculite lining for a fresh, smart look. With the stunningly realistic log fuel effects complete with glowing embers and alluring flames you can expect from a Gazco gas fire, the Riva2 530 and 670 are fires fit for today’s discerning home-maker.

Gazco’s Riva2 800 and the landscape 1050 are larger format gas fires with impressive heat outputs of over 7kW and high efficiency ratings of 82%. They are joined by the new Riva2 500; its more classical dimensions have been specifically built to fit into a 22” standard British fireplace opening. The clean lines and simple, sophisticated styling of the Riva2 range can be enjoyed alone as an Edge installation to create a ‘hole-in-the-wall’ look or, are equally stunning when complemented with one of Gazco’s traditional or contemporary stone mantels. Also available for the 500, 800 and 1050 is the new luxurious Icon frame. Made with reflective black glass in clean geometric lines, the Icon has the flair to make a bold yet elegant style statement in your home.

Specifically designed for installation into the internal leaf of a cavity wall, the Slimline has all the distinctive characteristics of Gazco’s Studio range but with a shallower firebox to give home-owners greater scope for integrating a high efficiency gas fire into their living space. With the added bonus of an easier, quicker and more cost effective installation, this is an excellent solution for both new builds and renovation projects where space is at a premium. Furthermore, the Slimline comes with a wide choice of frame, lining and fuel effect options, offering a broad number of styling possibilities sympathetic to a range of interiors. As expected, the Slimline also comes with a state of the art thermostatic remote control system featuring programmable options to ensure a personalised service from the appliance. High efficiency and heat output rates are also guaranteed making this contemporary gas fire as modern in performance as it is in style.

Gazco’s first double-sided Studio Duplex is a fabulous gas firesgas fire. Offering the ultimate in versatility, each side of the Duplex can be individually styled with a broad range of stunning frames. With an impressive 7.9kW of heat output, the Duplex can create a centrepiece to an open plan living space or a connecting feature between two separate rooms.

An electric fire can offer an achingly easy installation, wondrous visual effects (often available to use with or without heat output) and plenty of ambient warmth. The Studio Electric is a ‘hang on the wall’ fire and comes with the option of a white stone fuel bed to add an element of contrast to the bright and inviting flames created by Gazco’s advanced LED flame effect technology. The Studio Electric range comes in four sizes – the 1, 2, and 3 which are landscape format and the portrait 22, as shown, a fantastic option for narrower spaces such as hallways or simply for something a bit different. All Studio Electrics are available with a wide selection of frames including the Verve which can be personalised with one of four inviting colour finishes.

For a stand alone heating appliance, Gazco’s electric stoves are available in traditional and contemporary designs. With enticing flame and fuel bed effects and the option to enjoy these features without the heat output, the stoves will create plenty of atmosphere for any room, from kitchens to hallways, and bedrooms to conservatories. Provided you have a standard plug free nearby, you can enjoy the warmth or just the wondrous light and flame effects of your electric stove at any time of the year … even the midst of summer!
